Anthony Skalkos

Myotherapist & Remedial Massage Therapist

Pain changes the way we move, work, sleep and live. My passion is helping people move beyond pain—not simply by treating symptoms, but by identifying and addressing the underlying causes of musculoskeletal dysfunction so they can return to the activities that matter most.

I specialise in the assessment and treatment of chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions, including sciatica, neck and back pain, whiplash following motor vehicle accidents, work-related injuries, sporting injuries, headaches, shoulder pain and persistent movement dysfunction. Every treatment is tailored to the individual, combining hands-on therapy with education, movement advice and practical strategies that support long-term recovery rather than temporary relief.

My approach blends evidence-informed Myotherapy with the art of listening—to both the body and the person behind it. I believe lasting healing occurs when we understand not only where pain exists, but why it has developed. Whether you’re recovering from an acute injury or have been living with pain for years, my goal is to help restore movement, reduce pain and build resilience so your body can function at its best.

My clinical approach has been shaped by years of study, mentorship and hands-on experience. Originally training in psychotherapy, I developed a deep appreciation for the relationship between the mind, nervous system and body. That understanding naturally led me into Myotherapy, where I found the opportunity to work directly with the physical patterns that contribute to pain and dysfunction. Since then, I’ve been privileged to help hundreds of people recover from injury, improve their movement and reconnect with their bodies.

At Chiron’s Hands Myotherapy, I strive to create an environment where people feel heard, understood and genuinely cared for. Healing is rarely about a single treatment—it is a collaborative process built on trust, education and consistent care.

Our clinic also shares its home with Sanative Sanctuary, whose offerings include yoga, massage and holistic wellness experiences that nurture relaxation, nervous system regulation and overall wellbeing. While Chiron’s Hands focuses on evidence-based assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, Sanative Sanctuary provides complementary practices that support restoration, mindfulness and whole-person health. Together, the two practices offer clients a unique opportunity to care for both the physical body and overall wellbeing under one roof.

Philosophy

The name Chiron’s Hands is inspired by Chiron, the wounded healer — a Greek mythological figure who embodied both knowledge and compassion.

I believe pain is not simply something to suppress, but something to understand.

In practice, this means:

  • Listening before treating

  • Treating cause rather than compensation

  • Supporting long-term resilience, not temporary relief

My role is not just to reduce discomfort, but to help you restore strength, movement confidence, and body awareness.
